Finesse Soccer’s goal is to train players in a fun yet challenging environment, through private trainings, clinics and camps for both field players and goal keepers. (Our sweet spot is on play Inside the 18, a focus on goal scorers and goalkeepers.)
Our locally grown coaching staff – who represented some of the best soccer in the Kansas City area in the 90s and early 2000s – is back in action on the field, passing on the techniques, tactics, and passion that fueled their success on the field (and in the classroom – both Directors were NSCAA Academic All-America).
Simply said, we enjoy working with young players and giving them positive experiences where they can gain the skills and confidence to take their game to the next level, whatever that might be. We have trained as young as 7 years old up through high school players, with a range of skills, from a wide variety of clubs both in Kansas City and beyond.
Training with local coaches who know what it takes to succeed in club, high school, college and beyond will help prepare you to reach your goals. Our unique approach keeps training groups small to maximize your development opportunities, so you get more coaching attention and mentoring.

A short backstory…
It all started on the fields of Kansas City, with two soccer players who crossed paths in their youth soccer days, from club through high school. It was back when Heritage was the “complex” that served most of the area’s soccer needs, all the 8 fields it had.
Both rising stars through their club days with prestigious pedigree, Carrie Fry Robinson (SME ’01) and Laura Boyer (BVNW ’03), set the bar for goal scorers and goalkeepers in their day. They earned accolades for their accomplishments on the field and in the classroom, representing the top class of student athletes at the high school and then collegiate level.
After returning to Kansas City upon graduation and then professional careers (Laura playing soccer for Qbik in Sweden and Carrie with Deloitte Consulting in San Francisco), they both found themselves on the field again. Today, they have teamed up to offer a unique training environment to help develop youth soccer players in the Kansas City metro area and beyond.
Carrie started Finesse Soccer in 2010, and Laura joined her in 2011. Their backgrounds converge to create training experiences like no other in Kansas City. They are now supported by an incredible training staff of hand-picked, locally grown soccer standouts.
On a final note, our advice to players: whether it be competing with your club team, preparing for tryouts or keeping touch on the ball during the season and/or offseason, train. If you want to train with us, check out what we have going on or contact us using the form on the right.
